Arts in the aiR

Intro
We designed an AR art performance application during COVID-19 to bring virtual cultural experiences directly to elderly users, creating an accessible platform that delivered Chinese music, Hong Kong drama, and violin performances through augmented reality technology.
Summary
This project addressed the critical need for cultural connection and entertainment during pandemic lockdowns, specifically targeting elderly populations who faced isolation from traditional art venues. The solution utilized AR technology to transform users' living spaces into virtual performance halls, featuring intuitive UI design that prioritized accessibility and ease of use for older adults. Through collaboration with app developers, project managers, and production teams, we created an immersive experience that maintained cultural authenticity while leveraging cutting-edge technology to bridge the gap between performers and audiences during a time of unprecedented social distancing.
